Randy joined Halliday Financial in March of 2024 and works with the Compliance team. With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Randy brings a wealth of expertise to his role. His career has spanned various sectors of finance, providing him with a broad understanding of market dynamics and regulatory requirements.
Before joining Halliday, Randy spent 7 years in portfolio management and trading, where he honed his skills in analyzing financial markets and managing investments. He then spent 17 years in sales and trading, working closely with institutional clients to execute large transactions, providing strategic advice, and managing risk. Randy further expanded his expertise over 5 years in data sales to financial services, where he helped clients leverage data analytics to drive decision-making and improve operational efficiencies.
In his current role at Halliday Financial, Randy uses his extensive background to help ensure the company remains compliant with evolving financial regulations, while maintaining its commitment to ethical business practices.
Background and Education:
Randy holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oswego and began his career as an intern at Spear, Leeds & Kellogg shortly after graduation, where he gained early exposure to the fast-paced world of institutional finance. Throughout his career, Randy has earned various licenses, including the Series 7 and 66, demonstrating his deep understanding of the financial markets and regulations. He will be taking the Series 24 exam in 2025 to become a registered principal.
Outside Interests:
Outside of his professional work, Randy is passionate about spending time with his family and staying active. He enjoys playing pickleball amongst other team sports and he has a strong appreciation for music, often exploring new genres and artists. These activities allow Randy to stay balanced and energized both personally and professionally.
